gem class
Welcome to Gem Class (Year 6) with Miss Leigh and Mrs Nash.
Welcome to Year 6!
We are a class of enthusiastic and inquisitive learners who are excited about exploring new ideas, developing new skills and acquiring new knowledge. We are looking forward to a year full of challenges and opportunities.
In Year 6, we place a strong emphasis on values that are important for personal development, as well as preparing you for the future.
Some of the values we have decided to be most important to us and to focus on as a class, alongside the whole school REACH values, include:
- Respect: Showing respect for yourself and others is essential to creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Responsibility: Taking responsibility for your actions and learning is a key part of becoming an independent learner.
- Perseverance: Learning can be challenging, but with perseverance, you can overcome obstacles and achieve your goals.
- Collaboration: Working together with your classmates and teachers is an important skill that will help you succeed in school and beyond.
- Creativity: We encourage you to think outside the box and approach challenges with a creative mindset.
Throughout the year, we will be exploring these values through our curriculum, as well as through various activities and projects. We believe that developing these values will help you become well-rounded individuals who are ready to face any challenges that come your way, whilst holding high expectations for yourselves to be the best that you can be always.
In Year 6, there are many exciting things to look forward to. We will be studying a wide range of subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Art, and Physical Education. You will also have opportunities to take part in various extracurricular activities and trips linked to such as STEM days, meeting scientists, career opportunity visits, ballet shows, singing events and sporting competitions.
We are committed to making this year a fun, engaging, and rewarding experience for you. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to speak with your teachers or any member of the school staff. We are here to support you in your learning journey.
We are looking forward to a fantastic year of learning and growth!
