This term we are learning about celebrations. We kicked off the half-term by learning about 'Bonfire Night.' After speaking about our own experiences of Bonfire Night, we learnt about the story behind 'Bonfire Night.' We really enjoyed discussing the differences between the past and present.

We explored the different effects we could create by using chalk and then used our skills to create our own fireworks-themed artwork. 

We continued our learning about 'Celebrations' and learnt all about the Hindu celebration of Diwali. We explored the properties of clay and how it can be squished and moulded in different ways. We then used it to make our own diva lamps and we enjoyed getting really messy during the process! 

We also learnt about how Diwali is celebrated. We tasted traditional Indian food and learnt Indian dancing. We definitely have some future dancers in our class!
