Sport at Braybrook
At Braybrook Primary Academy, we offer a broad and balanced PE and sports curriculum, which is fully inclusive and promotes both participation and competition. Key skills, such as spatial awareness, strength, endurance and fine motor skills, underpin the sports and activities that the children develop through each PE session. Teamwork, communication and leadership are also skills that are promoted and developed through all PE sessions, which can then be applied within other areas of the curriculum.
In addition to our class teachers, we have Sports Coaches who deliver PE sessions and run after-school sports clubs. This helps us to ensure that our children have access to new and exciting sporting opportunities.
Swimming is an important part of the PE curriculum. This year, this provision will benefit the children in Yrs 4, 5 and 6 and will be further built upon for these children next year.
We are also lucky at Braybrook to be a part of the Orton Sports Cluster, which gives us the opportunity to represent our school at inter-school tournaments and festivals. This year, there will be a range of opportunities for children from Years 2 - 6.
